The 2019 KX85-II is here and ready to continue the revolution. Kawasaki engineers have gone all-out to ensure the KX85-II has what it takes to stamp its dominance on the Junior MX circuit.
With a high performance engine and race ready suspension, adjustable handlebar positioning and slim bodywork, the 2019 KX85-II is the bike to beat.
The 85cc 2-stroke high performance engine in the KX85 utilises numerous high performance design features, a low friction single ring piston for high power and sharp throttle response, the cylinder is designed with the Kawasaki KIPS system and the cylinder head features a high performance combustion chamber design.
Styled after the full-size KX250/KX450 models, the KX85 features sleek, aggressive bodywork designed for stunning, aggressive looks. Its streamlined shape takes the ease of rider movement and weight positioning to a whole new level. Factory style graphics complement the sharp high performance design.
The KX85’s radiator has been built to work hand in hand with the power output. Keeping it all cool when the racing action is getting hot.
Mounting brackets feature 2-position forward-backward adjustment while optional spacers allow 3-positions of height adjustment.
The fork offers race proven damping and bottoming resistance, enabling higher-paced riding and contributing to increase rider comfort. Front suspension performance has been stepped up to the next level thanks to Accumulating Shim-Type Valving – the same system as used on full-size KX models. Black forks guards like the larger KX models for a factory look.
For the ultimate in style, the KX85-II features petal shaped discs just like the full size KX250 and KX450 models. A 220mm disc at the front and 184mm at the rear provide massive stopping power.
The rear shock contributes to a stable ride feel, and offers easy adjustability and light weight. Black spring and green annodised adjusters add to the factory look.
The minimalist bodywork, flat slim fuel tank design and the flat seat were designed to make it easier for racers to go fast. Combined with a low positioned fuel cap, enables easier body transitioning from the front to the rear of the motorcycle.
The slim bodywork and racy graphics ensure the KX85-II will look good in the winners’ circle. Black alumite rims, black fork guards, black rear spring and green annodised finish on the suspension adjusters further strengthen their factory image.
A fit for everyone. Riders can choose from two available sizes: the KX85-II feature 19” front and 16” rear wheels; the KX85 is equipped with a 17” front and 14” rear. Accessory small wheels from the KX85 can be fitted to the KX85-II.
The KX’s smooth-shifting six-speed transmission offers a positive shifting action along with rugged durability thanks to hard chromed shift forks and new bushings added to the second, third and fourth gears on the output shaft.
The KIPS system varies exhaust port height for increased horsepower and torque. A breather in KIPS cover relieves exhaust pressure for more precise KIPS valve action and improved high rpm performance. KIPS lever stopper spring absorbs governor “over stroke” for added durability. The KIPS governor has a long stroke to open the cylinder valves more fully. A governor spring and 8 mm bearing boss aid durability.
Thick base at the clutch housing fingers for increased durability. The right hand engine cover provides a separate clutch cover for quick servicing without removing the water pump.
